The right shape for Your Face:
You want your veneers, crowns or dentures to complement your facial features so as not to appear obvious. Size, position, shape and color all play very important roles in accomplishing that perfect natural smile. Everyone has see someone with those bright white, big square chicklet teeth that just look so obviously fake. For example, if you have a small face, you should not choose long, square-shapes that won't match. With a more square-shaped face, round edges on your teeth are more natural. The overall length of your teeth can make a big difference as well: longer teeth can work if your face is more full while wider teeth help with a thinner face.
There are four typical face shapes, each one providing has a preferable tooth size and shape to complement your face and give you the most natural looking smile:
Heart Shaped: Faces that are heart shaped work better with rounded and shorter teeth.
Oval Shaped: Faces that tend to be more oval in shape look better with square teeth which help widen and add fullness to the face.
Round Shaped: Faces that are rounded look better with longer more pronounced teeth.
Square Shaped: Faces that are square with defined jaw lines look better with rounded teeth as they soften the features.
Smile Types:
Aggressive: Square shaped, uniform teeth for a bold impression. Typically more common for males.
Mature: Square shaped teeth with slightly rounded canines.
Vigorous: Square shaped teeth with sharp and prominent canines.
Dominant: Square shaped teeth with more prominent front teeth and rounded canines.
Focused: Slightly rounded teeth with square central incisors.
Enhanced: Slightly rounded teeth
Softened: Rounded teeth with a more discreet curvature.
Hollywood: Square shaped with slightly shorter lateral incisors. This is one of the most popular veneer styles and typically preferred for male patients.
Functional: Slightly rounded shape with pointed canines for optimal function
Natural: Slightly rounded shape with very pointed canines.
Youthful: Round shape with longer canines

Is a full mouth reconstruction like a smile makeover?
Although both full mouth reconstruction and smile makeover are customizable and combine several treatments, they are performed for different reasons. Full mouth reconstruction is needed to restore optimal oral health and function, and smile makeover is something you elect to have performed to improve the appearance of your teeth and smile.
Dental Veneers, Crowns Bridges:
Dentistry is no longer just fillings and root canals. It has expanded to include all manner of cosmetic options to improve both the health of your teeth and the quality of your smile. Among the most popular cosmetic options are dental veneers. The basics of veneers involve applying a thin porcelain shell to your teeth to cover flaws and improve their overall appearance. Irregularities, Discoloration, Gaps & Protection are some reasons to consider dental veneers.
Dental crowns are fixed prosthetic restorations made to restore a damaged tooth to its original shape and size. They’re permanently cemented on teeth that have cracked, extensively decayed, or otherwise been damaged. Although they sometimes extend down onto the root surface, crowns essentially replace the outer aspect of the “crown” part of a natural tooth, so it makes sense that the restorations are called “crowns.”
When affixed, the crown fully encases the portion of the damaged tooth that sits above the gum line. Crowns are custom made to fit over each tooth. They can be made of a variety of different materials, including ceramics, porcelain-and-metal, gold, or resin. Crowns are much stronger than veneers.
A dental bridge is a fixed (permanent) restoration that replaces one or more missing teeth in your mouth. Dental bridges mimic the look, shape, and function of natural teeth. They are also custom-made for every patient.
Most dental bridges are made of porcelain. They are attached to a metal structure for support. Other dental bridges are made of “all-ceramic,” which is a combination of porcelain and other materials that are similar in appearance.
Dental Implants & Implant Supported Dentures:
Dental implant surgery is a procedure that replaces tooth roots with metal, screw-like posts and replaces damaged or missing teeth with artificial teeth that look and function much like real ones. Dental implant surgery can offer a welcome alternative to dentures or bridgework that doesn't fit well and can offer an option when a lack of natural teeth roots don't allow building denture or bridgework tooth replacements.
What are implant supported dentures?
An implant-supported denture is a type of overdenture that replaces several teeth at once. If you’ve lost most of your teeth, we may recommend implant-supported dentures. Your overdenture will need at least two dental implants for support. However, our dentist typically recommends all-on-6 implants for the best result.
Attachments are placed underneath the denture that connects the implants. When placed in the mouth, the denture fits onto the dental implants, keeping it stable and secure. You’ll be able to enjoy more foods with implant-supported dentures than you would with conventional dentures.
Teeth Cleaning, Hygiene and Periodontal Treatment:
What is dental hygiene cleaning / teeth cleaning?
During a routine dental cleaning, your hygienist uses special tools to remove sticky plaque and hard tartar deposits from the surfaces of your teeth above your gums. These cleanings are very important for preventing gum disease and even for treating very mild forms of the disease (called gingivitis).
Routine cleanings are also a good time to ask your hygienist about areas of your mouth where your brushing and flossing routines need a bit of help, and your hygienist can also make sure you’re performing both those tasks correctly so you’re getting rid of as much plaque and tartar during your home routine as possible. In addition to preventing gum disease, having your teeth cleaned every six months also helps keep bad breath at bay.
What is periodontal treatment?
Periodontal (gum) disease is an infection of the tissues that hold your teeth in place. It's typically caused by poor brushing and flossing habits that allow plaque—a sticky film of bacteria—to build up on the teeth and harden. In advanced stages, periodontal disease can lead to sore, bleeding gums; painful chewing problems; and even tooth loss.
The main goal of treatment is to control the infection. The number and types of treatment will vary, depending on the extent of the gum disease. Any type of treatment requires that the patient keep up good daily care at home. The dentist may also suggest changing certain behaviors, such as quitting smoking, as a way to improve your treatment results.
It is important to know the difference between a basic hygiene cleaning and advanced periodontal disease treatment. Cleaning is mostly aesthetic while periodontal treatment is healthcare with a distinct difference in procedure and price. This is why routine checkups and cleanings are so very important!
Root Canal Therapy
Root canal treatment is an often straightforward procedure to relieve dental pain and save your teeth. Patients typically need a root canal when there is inflammation or infection in the roots of a tooth. During root canal treatment, an endodontist who specializes in such treatment carefully removes the pulp inside the tooth, cleans, disinfects and shapes the root canals, and places a filling to seal the space.
Without treatment, the infection will spread. Eventually, the tooth will become loose and need extracting. Some patients opt for extraction, especially if it hurts a lot or if the tooth cannot be restored, for example, if there is large decay, trauma, or loss of bone due to periodontal, or gum, disease. However, removing a tooth may mean that the surrounding teeth start to move and become crooked. This can look unsightly, and it can make it hard to have a good bite.
Bone Grafting
A dental bone graft is a procedure performed to increase the amount of bone in a part of the jaw where bone has been lost or where additional support is needed. Bone may be taken from elsewhere in the body and surgically fused to existing bone in the jaw. Sometimes, synthetic bone material is used. A dental bone graft is sometimes needed if further procedures, such as dental implants, are necessary or if bone loss is affecting the health of nearby gums and teeth.
There are several ways dental bone grafting can be done, but the basic procedure is the same: A dentist or oral surgeon makes an incision in the jaw and grafts (attaches) other bone material to the jaw. A dental bone graft is usually done if someone has lost one or more adult teeth or has gum disease. Both of these conditions can cause bone loss in the jaw.
